Overclocking my GTX 1060 6GB

I want to overclock my 1060 and I don't know what to do. I can focus the GPU clock or the memory clock. What do you recommend me?

Thanks for helping.

You get MSI Afterburner, max out power limit, temp limit, and then add 100MHz to your core clock and 200 to your memory. And run heaven, valley or some other benchmark. Keep adding to both until the benchmark crashes. When it does just place your OC to the last stable settings. One note though, you might be stable in benchmark, but your games might crash so you gotta test it and find a sweetspot. Also i suggest cranking your voltage up to 80 or 100% so your card will constantly run at the fastest speed. Also go to Nvidia control panel and change your power management to max performance.

also depends on your card, do you have the Founders edition or some custom cooler card from some other manufacturer?

if you have a blower get your fan speed high, if you got an open air cooler, you should be good with 50 - 60% speed

Basically the same and the one I posted is a bit easier to follow.

I have the Gigabyte GV-N1060WF2OC with the Silent fan mode. No problems with the fans, I have a very well cooled PC.

yeah but the second video shows the pascal a.k.a 1000 series overclocking and it'll be easier for him to follow the exact way to OC his card

then no need to worry, just follow the video guide or do the process i described in my comment. i did it completely by myself and it didn't fry and it works marvelously

Many people don't know, but a memory overclock on a 1060 can boost performance more than a GPU overclock can. I would recommend obviously doing both, but if you run into problems, I would trade a bit of GPU speed for memory speed.

that is true, my card can do only 150-160 on core, but up to 700 on memory and the performance between 500 and 700 is not so small
