SLI config

DanniB88

Hey Tech Freaks.

I really need your help. At the moment im running with a EVGA 980 ti sc+ and im having some trouble running high frames on my Acer Predator X34, because it's 4K. I am living in Denmark and here at is impossible to find a match for my GPU so i could run in SLI. But when i look at performance charts, 980 ti and 1070 looks similar and even 1080. So what to do. If im gonna run 4K high settings and 60+ fps i need more GPU power. Anyone maybe willing to sell a 980 ti to me?

Thanks for the help

I would rather buy an 1080 cause it's not worth it running 2 graphics cards in SLI.

@Ficusbut when you look at the test charts they look lot alike. And why not SLI ? i how you dont get more GB's but in some way it it has to be better.

I had two 980ti's in SLI for 4K and they WILL struggle now with 4K games. Witcher 3 was running medium/high for me at 4K. I would reccomend a 1080. That eliminates SLI scaling and is more efficient.

I mean, if you can, get a single GPU. Always. The 1080ti is coming out so you might look at that. Would be better than two 1070's in SLI.

Single cards don't and won't have the power, unless you're happy with low frame rates and high frame times.

Get what you can, two 1070/80's or find another 980 and call it a day.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

I run 2 980ti all day long, none of the issues with SLI people talk about. The problem is people who don't know SLI, try and talk about SLI.

Get a second 980ti, best bang for the buck for you. My 2 beat a Pascal Titan X in most games.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

The main issue is that people don't realise that SLI has come a long way since it was released. The issues of stuttering every game is nowhere near as common as it used to be.
