What OS to install on Raspberry PI 3 for home theatre , i planned to install Windows 10 and connect it with HDMI , and i hope it will be good for netflix?

 

Any recommendations?

Use Retro Pi. You can install kodi on it and use various methods of controlling it such as a controller or wireless keyboard with ease

I think that Raspberry PI 3 Model B can run windows with no problems , and when i connect it with TV i can use it for newspapper reading , youtube , netflix , that is allot better than Rertro PI

kodi and retropi dont like each other, i know its an option, but it does some very odd glitches.

 

if it's just for media center purposes, kodi will do fine, and they have ready made images for the pi. i dont know about the netflix side of things tho.

they have an ARM build of windows 10 for the pi3, i'd dare say "no problems" will most likely be an overly positive estimation tho.

You can use BerryBoot to install a load of different OS' on your Raspberry Pi 3, including Android. Go through those and see which suits your needs best

 

BerryBoot also makes it SOOO much easier than having to do all the work yourself.

Yeah, I have one at home. It just sits there collecting dust to be honest, but with Android, Kodi and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo it can be a cool little toy

I have new LG OLED TV but its not smart , hope it will convert him into smart one

Nope, I haven't personally installed the Android from BerryBoot. Although everything I have used berryboot for (Debian, NOC-PS Lite and a few others) has worked perfectly.

 

I'm sure the interwebs might have some knowledge of how it work. I just know it's Kitkat

I use OpenElec distro, it run KODI and for me it's one of the best if not the best Media center software that exist and it's pretty much hassle free

i use Libreelec on my PI3. when running Exodus is buffers a bit on WiFi so i have had to run an LAN cable to it. maybe more on board storage might fix this, but the LAN cable works.

I'm using raspbian-based OSMC for a while now and can't complain.

I've used both osmc.tv and Openelec kodi.  They both work very well and are great options.  I did like the layout of oscm.tv better though.

As I had a Plex server I didn't wanted to bother with Kodi so I used http://www.rasplex.com/. Great "out of the box" experience (as far as a Raspberry Pi could go), worked really fine with a remote server, even with heavy files (+30GB) a Playstation 4 struggled to decode, thanks to native Direct Play. But you'll need a Plex server.

I don't know about Netflix though.
