Looks pretty good, I'm not really up to date with the Gen7 Intel stuff so I'll let other give their input on the mobo and cpu. But the rest seems fine to me.

Is there any room in your budget for a beefier CPU cooler? The 212 evo is great but there's not loads of headroom for overclocking (as far as I'm aware).

Not really to make the jump to an AIO, would a Cryiorig H7 be better?

Looks beast, but there's probably a cheaper Z-board you can get if the only stuff you need is an m.2 slot and one GPU slot, I know it feels nice to get them nice boards, but one of my regrets is getting that expensive board, as I could have saved money by getting a cheaper one. Today I would have saved money on the board and case, got a smaller case and board, nixed the AiO CPU cooler and used the money on a Noctua air cooler.

Not trying to be down on your build man, it looks really nice, just my 2 cents :)

There is no point in overclocking an i5, especially if you are going to use single GPU setup, make a better money management and get the i7 7700 with a b250 and stock cooling, your performance and longevity in the CPU will be higher for the same price if not even a tad cheaper.

Also, since you are going to be gaming mostly, there really is no reason to spend so much more in that ssd, for the same price you can get one of these:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/x28H99/sandisk-ssd-plus-480gb-25-solid-state-drive-sdssda-480g-g26

Double the capacity and you will hardly if at all notice speed differences.

@morgan mlgman build is extremely attractive too, consider it

Just check the quality of the power delivery on whatever board you buy because it will affect the overclock you can achieve. :)

Not significantly better, maybe a bigger air cooler though? It really depends on how much you care about overclocking though, as it is it'll game well and I don't think your schoolwork will stress it too much either ;)

If you don't care about overclocking, save some money and buy a locked CPU and a cheaper motherboard!

Very nice the is just 2 thinks i would change.

1 Power Supply You only need 360w and have a 600w i suggest setting for a 400-500w,

2SSD the ssd is not needed for just gaming and school you can get one thats a lot cheaper for a little less performance but more storage.

i don't know much about your case but i suggest getting dust filters for it they really help. Also most first time builders don't know how to manage their cables inside the case, getting mini zip ties like 50 for £1 in some stores will change the whole pc.

Yeah but generally the less wattage PSUs are worse quality and aren't that much cheaper. Plus extra wattage is always nice in case he wants to upgrade in the future to say a 250 watt GPU.

quality doesn't decrease with wattage, not many pc need more than 500w.

Yes, but generally the power supplies with less wattage are worse quality. While it is true that, say, a 550 watt g2 power supply is another the same quality as a 750 watt g2 power supply, under around 500 watts there aren't a lot of high quality PSUs since many power supply manufacturers don't bother making lower wattage high quality ones. Can you find a power supply that's at least as good as a 550 watt evga g2 power supply that also has at least semi modular cables for much cheaper? Probably not.

I will definitely get some ties, the case has filter on the front and the PSU so that shouldn't be a problem :)
