Nas Raid 10 for backup ???

Hi ,

I here a lot of talk about Raid, Backup, I have a Qnap 4 bay Raid 5 system used to back up my whole house. all the phones ( 2) computers (3). Now I am out of storage. So I am thinking 8 bay NAS with Raid 10.

 

Anyone have any input on this?

Have you considered 8-bay RAID6? I personally like RAID6 more now. You also get some more space than RAID10.

with 8 drives id run raid 5 or 6(dpends on if you have ha, how good the drives are, and your backup type).

 

No reason to use raid 10, it won't be any faster, and just give you less capicity.
