My Laptop keeps waking up on it's own.

I have Asus G551VW FY212T laptop. For some reason when I have the laptop lid closed I notice the laptop turns on from sleep on it's own, weird. I heard my facebook video chat calling while laptop lid was closed shut.  What is going on here?

I've had problems in the past where my PC will wake itself up from sleep mode if there are updates waiting to be installed. Could be unrelated but worth checking out

CPU: i7 4790k, RAM: 16GB DDR3, GPU: GTX 1060 6GB

Does the laptop go to sleep when you close the lid? That's not a matter of course actually. You can Czech the advanced settings under power management.

Go to cmd

Type

powercfg -lastwake

Windows Update does this automatically to my laptop when updates are waiting to install. I think I disabled wake timers in my BIOS/power settings to get rid of it.

My laptop still wakes up on it's own with lid closed. This just happened. I opened my laptop bag & the laptop was on while lid was closed & the laptop bag was really warm because the laptop fans were on what gives?!

Waking old threads isn't the best of things but as I mentioned earlier its Windows Update waking your laptop to install updates. You need to disable wake timers in your power settings or BIOS to fix the issue.
