How long will this GPU last me?

I'm buying a gtx 1050 Ti and I'm curious about how long it will last me for playing at 1080p medium-high settings. I know it's hard to tell because we can't predict the future but does anyone have an estimate?

What's your budget? The RX 470 is $20 more on average but is about 50 - 60% faster.

some of it depends on what games you are wanting to play. In games like LOL, CS:GO, DOTA you should get several years. However in games like BF1 and GTA 5 your going to be pushing it 18 months from now.

id say look at past generation card with similar positioning. if you look at the gtx 950 and how well it can play games now compared to launch i would suspect that the 1050ti will age similarly.

well its going to be fine for 1080p at medium for another two years probably depending on if you play tripple A titles or lighter games like CS:GO, LoL or Dota 2

Then it should last for 3+ years... Provided that you are willing to play with high-medium settings instead of ultra

I was already thinking about getting the 1050 (non Ti) and stretched the extra 40 bucks

It lasts as long as you want it to.  I have an old GTX 560 Ti that runs any game.  Yes, I turn settings down and sometimes reduce resolution, but I can still play any game.  It all comes down to your personal preference for visual quality and frame rate.  I'd say you can reasonably expect 2-3 years or more depending on your preferences.

 

Also, don't get the 1050.  Low end GPUs are not a good value.  1050 Ti or RX 470 are the bare minimum, IMO!

Its hard to predict what games will come, out and how they will run. With a lot of new technology being realsed with Vega we could start to see some changes done in how memory is processed in video games.

I'm a former console gamer so I'm used to low settings anyways  medium is a luxury

Come back to the real world. First of all good luck finding it and second super good luck finding it below $220.

1050Ti is available for like $140
