I agree that it can be a little more risky then buying locally, but if you do the research on stores return policy and the manufacturer warranty you should be fine. This isnt a very good example, look at more expensive parts and you will start to see the savings. As I said, I saved about ~$300 or so buying from the US.

Hassle isn't the same as risk. Hassle is the pain of waiting, if it doesn't work returning it will also take weeks, etc etc.

It's just simply easier to do it locally. Then again I guess that $20 might be a lot of money to some. I'd gladly pay that to just get it within country with a proper warranty and faster shipping.

True, and in that case it'd be worth it. I just don't see the value in his example.

Depends how fast the store/manufacturer will return item, but I agree it might take slightly longer, is it worth saving a few hundred though? Shipping times isnt really a factor as it comes down the the country's postal service. In my case, it was quicker for my parts to ship internationally via DHL then it was with AUPost (2/3 days for MOBO+GPU to ship separately internationally vs 5 for AUPost).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.
