Why 27" 1080p?

What country? if you're not in the US you can get an LG 75Hz IPS free-sync display potentially

Otherwise I'd just pick up 2 1080p 22" IPS displays for that price man

$89, has a Vesa Mount

It will look too stretched, cause of the pixel density

If you sit back a few feet like a TV, its fine but if you are using it as a monitor then no

people think that the PPI is too low for 1080p on anything above 25". Depending on how far away you sit from the monitor, you can see the individual pixels. I personally don't mind it but that's mostly because I sit a bit far away from my 27" 1080p monitor.

for around $250 you can grab a refurbrished or new MG248Q

or go for a ultrawide 29UB55-B

If you just want a ordinary just grab a Dell S2715H or U2417H

less ppi, depends on viewing distance.

Also more expensive

Here's the cheapest 1080p 27" IPS display, has no VESA, it's $169, clearly not worth it over 2 displays for almost the same price

If not 1080p what should I aim for in a 27" monitor?

1440p korean monitors, range from $200-250, 1440p at 27" is around 100ppi

but I'd almost suggest just saving up for a 4k display at that point as it's only $299 for this TN display with free-sync
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Rk98TW/aoc-monitor-u2879vf

Or you can sometimes find the same display but with an IPS panel for around $349
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yfx9TW/lg-27ud58-b-270-60hz-monitor-27ud58-b

Of course with 2160p at 27" you have too much pixel density so you need scaling, but I suppose too much is better than not enough

So do you already have the new PC purchased or was that still being planned? As if you're getting an AMD GPU you monitor would be cheaper to have adaptive sync

and if your current display is 1080p then there's not much reason to buy a new monitor that's only 1080p

I already have one PC and I'm using the samsung for that one, building a new PC for a different house, both have Nvidia GPU's

Because if your main focus is gaming you should go for a 144hz display, this one also has free-sync which only works with AMD GPUs

1080p 144hz TN free-sync, $219
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZBZ2FT/aoc-monitor-g2460pf

1080p 144hz TN G-sync, $379 which is why you'd want to stick to an AMD GPU

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/R998TW/aoc-monitor-g2460pg

Although IPS is for great color accuracy, I have the free-sync display above and it's perfectly fine next to my IPS display, just lacks the superior viewing angles naturally

I have a 960 and in the future pc im getting a 1060.

I'm not playing anything too seriously, except csgo and maybe overwatch. I really don't think I'll need a 144hz unless I'm gonna go pro (which I'm not), but maybe I'm wrong?
