Higher fps

willsamuels

I've noticed that sometimes if you run an external monitor on a laptop you get better fps I figured that's because screen has its own power supply and saves power for the GPU

I know this is a thing for external gpus. It's less latency to plug directly into the external gpu with an external monitor than plug it into the laptop and use the laptop screen.

Unsure of why it would be the case for a laptop with no external gpu though

If you game with power plugged in, theres no difference.

On Battery, maybe, because powersaving, and throttling.can be possible depending on model.
