How many monitors can i run?

Hello i want to know what the maximum amount of monitors that i can run off my PC is. The monitors i would run would be 1080p at 60Hz.

My PC specs: 

CPU: I5 6500

GPU: RX480 8GB MSI GAMING X

RAM: 16GB DDR4 2133Mhz

Motherboard: Gigabyte H170n-WIFI

4 is the maximum number of screens that it supports. Might be able to increase it with a DP Hub, not sure.

i believe that you can run 3 monitors off of this, my friend is able to do so with similar specs

I was using this: https://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=3819594 (swedish price comparison website).

But you are right, "Up to 6 displays with DisplayPort MST hub" http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/radeon-rx-series/radeon-rx-480.

Just for clarity, I ran 5 monitors purely off DVI, HDMI, and DP-to-HDMI passive adapters (my RX 480 only has 5 ports, so not sure how high I could go with those).

Using DisplayPort daisy-chaining I could go up to 6, but 7 was not detected.

 

No idea why everyone thinks it is 4. AMD graphics cards have supported 6 monitors since 2010...

my friend runs a 480 with 3 monitors

 

they are 120hz tho
