Dell SE2717H vs.Dell P2416D

NeutronGTX

Hi everyone

I am planning on getting a new monitor in the near future, however I can't decide between these two monitors listed in the title.

Dell SE2717H

Pros: 27 inch vs 24 inch

         Freesync

         75hz

         Slightly cheaper

Dell P2416D

Pros: 2560 x 1440

         overclocks to 75hz reliably

         Much higher PPI

Is the tradeoff in features worth it for the massive increase in PPI

CPU: i5 2500K @ 4.2GHZ, GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2X4GB) 1600MHZ, Mobo: Asus P8Z77M, Chassis: Phanteks P400s Tempered Glass editionStorage: Seagate 1TB + Samsung 2TB In RAID 0 + Crucial MX100 256GB SSD, Sound Card: Asus Xonar DS, Mouse: Steelseries Sensei, Keyboard: CM Storm Quick Fire Pro, Monitor: BenQ G2410HD + Samsung SA1900

I think id take 1440P @ 60hz/24" over 1080P @ 75hz/27"

Should be just a better experience, what GPU ?

Don't expect to OC the 1440p monitor to 75hz. I've got Dell U2515H and it skips frames with 65hz OC. But people got it up to 75 and it worked. since 75 isn't "that" higher (You'll notice for the first few seconds or so), I'd get the 1440p 60hz. The 1080p would be worth it if it was 120hz or faster. with RX 480, I don't think you'll push more than 60fps on 1440p anyway, so I wouldn't bother OC it in the first place.

I oc'd my current monitor to 75hz (verified no frame skipping) and at least for me it does make quite a noticeable difference but you are right that I probably won't hit 75fps at 1440p with my GPU
