Why is my title still "Junior Member"?

So I just noticed that my title still "Junior Member". 

And that there are other members, who have only been on here since two years after I joined, with an order of magnitude less in posts than me.

 

I'm confused as to how the title system works, any insights?

Its based off of post count unless you manually change it in your profile.

As @RKRiley said, it's based off your post count. After 500 you can change it yourself though

I thought maybe I had manually set it at some point, but I can't see where abouts under edit profile where I can change it.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

But There are people with less than 100 posts, which are just "members"

 

Is somehow "junior member" above "member" in the rankings?

I'm pretty sure they changed the system a few times, so maybe those people joined when under *whatever amount of posts* still was just 'member' and now that you are here there is 'junior member'.

Yeah, I joined way back when on the 3rd January 2013. maybe that was just the starting rank at that time.

 

And now if someone joins they just get 'Member'. :)

Unfortunately this is a legacy issue due to the conversion from vBulliten (in 2013). Once you get to 500 posts, it will allow you to set it manually. I can override it to the default "Member" for you if you like?

 

From the FAQ:

There are two user title systems that are assigned to users based on post count. Some member have the title Junior Member or Senior member - these carried over from vBulletin and will not update inline with the IPB user titles.

Yeah According to the FAQ, it's supposed to update from Junior Member to Member at 25 posts, but looks like the great mortis is on this so it should be resolved soon :D
