Midnight Rig - Z270 build

MidnightBanshi

Even though Ryzen just launched today, I already ordered my parts.  If I ever change my mind later, all I need do is swap out the mobo/CPU.  I think this will still last me a long time irregardless.  Yes, I know some parts are overpriced, but I wanted a certain aesthetic to the project.  With that in mind, here is how it went:

CPU: Intel i7-7700K: $339.00

Motherboard: AsRock Z270 Taichi: $199.99

Case: NZXT S340 Elite (black): $94.99

PSU: EVGA Supernova B2 750W: $79.39

CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i v2: $96.99

RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 16GB 3200Mhz: $134.99 (remember....aesthetics...)

SSD: Crucial MX300 525GB SSD: $149.99

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB: $69.97

GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2: $469.99 (customer service and warranty over ASUS)

DVD: LG External DVD-RW: $22.99

Total with free shipping: $1658.29

I think this will last quite some time, and I look forward to getting everything set up, Windows installed, and getting some game on!  Parts are on the way, and videos will be done of unboxings, thoughts on the build, and of course, the build itself. :-)

Midnight Rig - CPU: i7-7700K / Cooler: Corsair h100i V2 / Motherboard: AsRock Z270 Taichi / RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 3200Mhz / GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2 / SSD: Crucial MX300 525GB / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm / PSU: EVGA Supernova B2 750W

Serious question: how did it feel when you knew how much ryzen costs?

Anyway, parts list sounds quite nice, hopefully it all goes well :)

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

If I was doing high-quality rendering or video editing, it probably would have stung a little bit, but these days, with a new CPU being shown every year, it's not too bad.  I'm sure I'll still get plenty of life out of this.

You're forgetting the RGB elements in the motherboard and GPU though. ;-)
