Can PCMasterRace be considered racist?

Me and my other friend who is into PCs were making jokes about PCMR in a lesson, and then we got a lecture about how racist saying it was and how offensive and the like. 1- Can PCMR be considered racist? 2- How to convince someone that it isn't (I think they think we are neo-nazis or something)??

Whoever gave you that lecture probably doesn't understand the PCMR, it's a joke and it doesn't exclude people from it because of their race. Members of the PCMR can be racist, but the PCMR itself is not.

It's funny because all of these things that get dubbed "racist" or otherwise offensive in some form are only done so by the SJW type. Nobody else could even pretend to care. Not even the minorities or other groups of people that these things could be considered "offensive" towards

1- its a joke first of all, i know people of all race and gender that use this term as a joke. pc  vs console is a joke, they both have advantage and disadvantages. 

2- you don't have to, it depends.  i got my parents a ps4 pro with psvr instead of a pc and htc vive, the reason is they not really into tech also the learning curve is too high for them, my dad is a civil engineer and my mom is a biologist, they struggle with computers, building a pc is not a solution to all problem.

I feel saying PCMR or Console master race is stupid, as it should just be the Glorious Gaming Race (even though I like to make jokes involving PCMR) but it's not racist.

Yes, if you're completely aggressive towards console people and don't try to understand their side of the story. There are those people that mindlessly bash on console users and don't try to understand them at all. Those could be racists.

Nobody's ethnicity is mentioned or involved when you say "PC Master Race" to anyone. The term "PC Master Race" is just a tongue-in-cheek term, and people who get offended by it for whatever reason need to leave the Internet immediately.

 

I can understand the negative connotation towards the "Master Race" part, though, but again, this isn't meaning to have anything to with any sort of ethnicity. PC isn't a race.

I guess master race definitely has Nazi connotations so the teacher will have to have a word with you to cover his/her ass, just so they can say they've done something if something kicks off. I cannot stress enough how the most important aspect of ANY job, is covering your own ass.

You can't and it's not your job to. The term 'PC Master Race" is meant to be a joke parodying the Nazi ideology but some people find those jokes to be in bad taste. Basically to some people there's very little difference in the term "PC Master Race" and a joke about the Holocaust, people can't be forced to like certain humor. All I can say is that if you want to continue using the term, understand it has a negative connotation for some people and the term was designed specifically to mirror the term coined by the Nazis.
