Once other resellers in Oz start listing prices it will be in the same ballpark. I follow PLE because they are closest to me

I guess it's time to sell my 970SLI, so I can change it up for a 1080 when the price comes crashing down! xD

if you pre-order the founders direct from Nvidia starting tomorrow morning it will be, it's only the stores that try to price gouge over the MSRP

Isn't it better to wait for EVGA and co. to release their own cards? As in, the cooling solution is better.

time will tell, in the event he was running at 2Ghz OC and only 66C so not sure it's needed, will need Jay or someone with a thermal camera to really look at the cards closer.

*Under the same workload as the the GTX 1080 founders release where it was shown to run at 2114 MHz, 67 °C.

It is normal for down under. Most places still sell the GTX 1080 around $1200 NZD ($741 USD minus tax and dollar conversion), they released at $1500 ($926 USD minus tax and dollar conversion) though many stores still list them at that price.
