Ooh, I might be able to snag a second 1080. That would be a pretty baller setup, too.

I've seen them as cheap as $400 on eBay. They're really starting to come down bit by bit.

Even if you took away 20% from all the results, they all still seem great for the price :P

I think people are jumping the gun too far too fast. I want Ryzen to be great. I would love to have an 8c/16t rig esp. with more games benefiting from it. I as much as anyone wants this to succeed and force Intel to reexamine things. But I don't think its quite that simple yet. I need to see legitimate benchmarks and see how good Ryzen truly is. I would have no problem selling off my Z170/6700K rig for an X370/1800x rig IF everything checks out and performance is great. I'll wait though like any person should and decide from there. It's easy to get so caught up in the hype and lose focus on making rational choices. I'm really excited and hope that AMD has delivered.

(Maybe I can change my handle to NVidia / AMD enthusiast.) xD

Would be funny, but I don't think they would have a big event for an entry level card.

I'll prolly grab one. Don't have much hopes for vega. From some of the indepth stuff from adored on YouTube who is a huge amd fan he has pointed out that its not going to be the monster some people were hoping from an architecture stand point.

But who really knows right?

Main system:

ROG Maximus Hero VIII

Gigabyte G1 980ti Sli @1500 ghz

Pascal is old news now imo, Vega will be where it's at....

(plus I just got an LG 38UC99, so I kinda need it!)

Well 1080Ti is way too expensive for me, but it's cool to see the GPU market push forward.

I just hope this won't crush VEGA because AMD needs some life.

It'll crush Vega, because the Ti isn't what Vega is aiming at. They're going for more of a 1080, but (hopefully) at a more competitive price. Just like most underdogs. I'm still excited for Vega though, really hoping they put out some competitively priced mini cards. Then they'll get my money for sure.

4 hours ago, TheRandomness said:

Well, Ryzen just stomped Intel, so they do have that just in case Vega decides to be mediocre :P

In Cinebench ;)

Haha. Seriously though I'm so sick of seeing only that benchmark.

4 hours ago, RadiatingLight said:

TITAN XP was never really meant to be a gaming card.

IIRC it has FP32 compute unlocked to some degree, which the GTX cards don't, so it's good for professional use if a quadro is too expensive.

Mmm. The FP64 (which is what I think you're thinking of) is the same as the 1080 and 1070. If you want compute cards you have to go Quadro.

3 hours ago, lots of unexplainable lag said:

Doubt it, it'll cannibalise Titan XP sales if it's prices substantially lower than an XP since a Ti will get custom coolers/PCBs allowing higher overclocks and more performance (unless nVidia still puts up with that power limit BS that limits overclocks going anywhere over ~2050MHz).

That's why they release the 1080Ti so much later in the year compared to the Titan. To get those sales for the early adopters. The profit margins on the Titan are huge, where as the 1080Ti are, naturally, smaller.

I hope you are joking. I really never understood why people do it , with phones, with PC parts especially, every year.

So seriously why do you people do it, tell me i would really like to know...-_-

I upgrade my phone every year for many reasons. For one, I get the most money back for it. If I wait 2 years it's worth considerably less. There's also sizable advances year over year in terms of battery life. I like to try out different form factors to see which one I like the best, and what features I ultimately want in a phone. Plus SoCs are seeing serious advancements year over year, not only in speed but in the tech incorporated within them.

I think you'll end up being one of the disappointed when the Ryzen gaming benchmarks come out. There's a reason they've been showing off the benchmarks they have. The 7700k will likely still remain king of the FPS arena, it'll just come down to cost that decides which you go for.

Do people feel better having the greatest toy on the block, eeven if they pay more and never use the extra power or features.

I just bought a GTX 1080 and only did that cause I find it second hand off a store at 400$, and if it wasn't ASUS Strixx i wouldn't have bought it in the first place. And i don't plan on changing that for a few years, cause truth be told i don't need even that.

So seriously why do you people do it, tell me i would really like to know...-_-

Various reasons. In my case, it's that I run a 165 Hz monitor, so that extra GPU power is often going to be put to serious use. That's not to say I'll necessarily get a 1080 Ti. But then I have just got a new credit card with 29 months no interest, and that means it's not real money I'm spending, right...?

Was more so making the joke that we had this exact thread a few months back, and it turned out to be a completely different Nvidia announcement.

Nvidia is actually teasing the "Ti" branding in their advertisements on social media so it's obvious this one is real.

Nah, that will just be called "Nvidia Shield" while they go back and change the name of the older devices for no reason whatsoever.

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.
