Romanian AMD Ryzen prices

Oh my god. Ryzen 1700 will cost at $500, and the 1800X will cost $800 in South korea. That is $400 more than the original price.

I hate Korea's hardware prices. A GTX 1080 costs $1000 in South korea.

Then again we're talking about a country with a prolonged goverment crisis, the economies of the world react to those things you know.

I'm sure it plays a part, but in my mind it would also have to do with the exchange rate's reaction to the government crisis.

How this happened: Birds had a virus, and the chickens got close to the infected birds, so the chickens got infected to the virus.

Even worse, chickens are being killed too.

Megaretailer Altex just released the three Ryzen CPUs into the wild.

Prices are:

R7 1700 - $380 - $51 over MSRP

R7 1700X - $465 - $66 over MSRP

R7 1800X - $597 - $98 over MSRP

As expected, romanian retailers are price gauging and Scrooge McDucking while us consumers are left to pay the "I'm a Romanian techie" tax. I expected as much, and the 1700(x) prices are within reason, but the (near) $100 difference on the 1800X is plain greed at this point.

So far, Altex is the only retailer (online at least) to have provided prices with a March 2nd availability date (and the ability to preorder). Right now the prices are comparable to Intel's offering. Let's hope the steep(ish) asking price is worth it.

Well isn't that due to VAT as that is a 20% increase on the nose

VAT is 19% and those prices will change most likely, since I can't see them making a $3 profit on a $600 CPU

Even if I buy internationally, I still have to pay VAT + shipping. Yes, I'd have to pay VAT once the product enters the country so if I already pay VAT in, say, the UK, I'd pay it again here.

leaked pricing in Sweden has been verry close to the US price but i cant find any official price yet :/

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Precisely.

Anyway let's see it happens the same way it happens with video cards.

What I mean is when the 1050ti came out it, at launch it was priced within 15$ or so to the 1060, meaning way beyond the msrp. And over time it dropped.

It's still not were it should be, but it's not as expensive anymore.

Cheaper ? A 6900k is about $3500+ here after conversion, markup and VAT vs if I bought it myself and used my current work place's shipping service it would cost me about $2800

It's depends on what you're ordering, my 480 was just above $500 from Amazon.

My 470 cost me exactly what I paid + shipping from my skybox to here... But depending on the value of the item you get the life taxed out of you if you aren't a business which I find to be stupid since all pc stores here have retarded mark ups even though they don't pay duties on imported electronics

Yeah the mark up is insane, even on consoles, buying a PS4 500GB is gonna put you out of $1000+.
