Why is Linus still wearing an Apple Watch and using an iPhone 7?

I was very surprised to see that Linus was still using the iPhone 7 in all the most recent videos. Especially since he had so much praise for the Galaxy S7 and so little for the iPhone. I especially remember his gripes over the Apple Watch. I myself have thought about moving back to iOS for my phone for while but was planning on waiting till the Apple finally adopts wireless charging, non-LCD screens, better water resistance, and a few more small improvements that are said to be coming in the next iteration. I've kind of gotten tired of Android Phones that are better than iPhones for about a year and then never get another update (I'm looking at you Samsung). I haven't watched WAN show in a couple weeks due to an extra large workload but I have stopped in and watched the main videos. Has he mentioned it at all? It also seemed weird because his greatest praise for it was mostly related to its use in conjunction with a MacBook which he has not been using. It just seemed interesting to me and I'd like to hear his reasoning as a major Android enthusiast.

I have no idea how long ago that video was shot. Keep in mind it's out today because the NDA was lifted today.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

They may be recently uploaded videos, but it's hard to actually indicate when it was actually filmed (without it being tied to a specific known event, or without LTT specifying when it was shot.) Doesn't mean he doesn't currently wear it, but just pointing out that some Youtubers have a decent backlog of videos or shoot several in a short span before you'll notice much difference.

He has access to these devices on a daily basis so there technically isn't anything stopping him from switching every week or maybe using two phones (work/personal). That being said the iPhone 7 with the white marble skin can be seen fairly often in his videos. Speaking from experience it's a really good phone.

Apple would be the last company that could be sponsoring him. They have a very clear policy of cutting ties with anyone who criticizes their products - they can't stop you from buying their stuff and reviewing it but they won't send it your way or sponsor you in any way.

Specs aren't everything. The OS on the S3, even for custom ROMS are not as optimized as iOS 7.1.2 is on the iPhone 4. Switching between normal apps like Music and Messenger on the S3, even with a gig of RAM is a hassle. Things will constantly have to reload completely. On the iPhone 4, not so much unless you're switching between memory intensive processes. Simply looking at specs alone is a false fallacy.

I don't game anyways so the difference between a single core and a quad core is negligible for me.

Yeah that is very true. I know that IOS is well optimised for Apples hardware. Its just like my brother that bought a decent phone with what seemed like a huge battery. Turns out that the battery can barely last a day with even small use.

I guess you are right... I have heard this kind of things before.

However a lot of big youtube channel is clearly sponsored by apple.

TLD detroitBorg as well as website like 9to5mac.... Even MKBHD's tone shifted drastically when it comes to apple's product.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
