Is my Motherboard compatible with current CPU's?

Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

No. Your board uses the LGA 1155 socket and that CPU uses the LGA 1151 socket.

Hello

I keep posting topics about upgrading my system as I am not 100% certain on a lot of things, my specs are;

CPU: I7-3770 3.4ghz

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth z77

GPU: GTX 1070

RAM: 16GB

PSU: Corsair TX850 PSU

Are my current components compatible with new generation CPU's? e.g. if i wanted to upgrade to this

Would i be able to?

Thanks :)

No it will not. You need mobo with 1151 socket: H170, H270, B150, B250, Z170 or Z270

Your motherboard is a Z77 chipset

You will need a new one becuase you Motherboards supports CPUs for the 1155 Socket

but the 17-6700k needs the 1151 Socket Something like a Z170 will be okay for that CPU
