Is that case a must? You could probably squeeze in a GTX 1070 if you saved some money with an S340 or something, which will help performance a ton.

A proper VR PC currently is a bit out of your budget

You want the fastest CPU/RAM you can get to help with your minimum frame rates

and the RX 480 is about the minimum for VR

Or you could wait 2-3 weeks and get Ryzen for less money, especially if you're considering dropping to an i5 here, which Ryzen may offer an overclocking 4c/4t chip for under $150

Also no real reason to buy such an expensive case man

I hope you're getting a Vive and not a rift.

The case is 100% not my idea, I think it's completely silly to buy a case with this budget in that caliber. But it's her dream case and she'd kill me if I said she had to get a different one.. Plus we already have it so it needs to be in the build. If anything, disinclude the case from the budget if that helps

Then the same build applies but you should surely wait for Ryzen to see what it offers, should get the full announcement on the 28th at GDC

Assuming that one will be able to even find a CPU on launch day.  You just know people are gonna be clicking the buy buttons like no tomorrow when that thing hits the market................

Just gotta be super fast, if nothing else I'm sure AMD has poured every last penny into making chips since this is their last chance and it looks like they have something really solid
