"Andromeda 2.0"

Well, I made a build log a few months ago about putting my components into an Evolv ATX TG. Due to the cases size restrictions for what I wanted to accomplish in it, I decided to get rid of the case. I waited patiently for the Lian Li PC-O11 to release and finally picked it up. So, it's become about transferring components to the case and assembling it. So, let's get into it.

Components:

  • Intel Core i7-6950X
  • 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum
  • ASUS Rampage 5 Edition 10
  • Intel 730 series 480GB
  • Western Digital Black 6TB
  • SLI NVidia GTX 1080
  • Corsair RM1000X
  • Custom EKWB watercooling loop
  • 6x LTT Edition Noctua NF-F12's, with black Chromax vibration dampers
  • Cablemod sleeved cables
  • Nanoxia aluminum cable combs

As the build is right now, it's working very well. I plan to upgrade to 64GB of RAM sooner or later. I'm also going to try and get something like the new 960 Pro 2TB NVMe drive. There will be some mods, such as changing the panels to a sandblasted silver aluminum look, custom glass panels, some out of the ordinary tubing, and some smaller case mods.

So, this was the mess that I started with on the test bench, waiting for the release of the PC-O11.

The first thing you'll notice with the PC-O11 is the sheer amount of room. The motherboard in here is an E-ATX motherboard, and it looks almost small inside the case.

This is after installing one of the two EK PE 360's I'll be using in this build. This one is obviously the top mounted one.

There's a nifty little spot for 2.5" drives to be mounted and show-cased. I'm not sure if I'll keep the drive there, as it might be a pain to route cabling to it.

The rear panel is where drives and the PSU mount. I may put acoustic/sound dampening foam in this area to minimize noise, and I may mount my pump and reservoir in this area too. It has a really sizeable CPU cutout area as well.

And here's a preview with the two GPU's installed, as well as the cabling comb, and the current cables. I might switch to all black cables.

this shouldn't be called 'andromeda' it should be called 'Total Insanity'
