i want to upgrade my cpu

I have a  MSI Z87M with a i5-4460 and 8 gigs of ram. What would be the best upgrade for the cpu? Maybe more ram?

in terms of cpu - any decent 4th gen i7 will do a 4790 is good - 8gb of ram is enough for most games - but 16 is always nice-  just upgrade your gpu or something

if i upgrade to a 4790 will i need to upgrade my power supply. now i have a 450w with a gtx 750 ti?

Don't bother upgrading your CPU if that's the video card you have. The video card is the thing holding you back.

If its a proper 450w psu then it should be plenty.

Why do you want to upgrade your pc though?

For gaming or browsing that upgrade wont help much,

for video encoding etc. an i7 would be quite a bit faster.
