We use a Focusrite for audio recording at my church. The only time we ever had a problem didn't have anything to do with the Focusrite (someone switched cables for an event and forgot to switch them back, grrr).

Regarding driver crashing in audio interfaces. RME drivers are so stable that the only way I can see them crashing is by using hammer to smash the system disk.
