29 vs 34 monitor

SuperFlower

I have a 29 inch ultrawide monitor with 2560x1080 resolution.

Is it worth to buy a 34 inch ultrawide with the same resolution?

or is the resolution too low for that screen?

I dont want a 3440x1440 display cuz i have a gtx 1070 and it would not be enough for that screen.

I think 34" would be too much for 1080x2560, and I think a 1070 would be able to handle 1440x3440, not sure though.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure 29" is still too much for 1080

Would a 34" 1080p monitor look like a zoomed in 29" 1080p one?

(not talking about 34" 1440p)

Look at it this way -  your paying for 5 inches more :) on top of your current monitor, but you dont get 5 inches more of pixels, you just get bigger pixels (which will look worse) maybe keep your monitor and bang in another 1920x1080 monitor?

Well i've read a lot of peoples opinions and very few complain about the 34" 1080p being pixelated.

Is the 34 just a zoomed 29? What difference is in terms of FOV?

Going from a 2560x1080 pixels 29" monitor to a  2560x1080 pixels 34" is basically paying for a bigger monitor. Do you sit so far away from your current monitor that it would be worth it for you?

Keep in mind if you'r gonna sit just as close as you are now to the new monitor, it will be less sharp.

Also, a 34" is like 90cm in width and 29" is like 75 or so. You will need some extra space for it.

2560x1080 on a 29" is pretty do-able. If you think 1080p on a 24" is good, 29" 2560x1080 is fine too.

IMO 2560x1080 on a 34" is less okay, but of course depending on how far away OP sits from the monitor.
