Gaming vs ws

What's the difference? Other than price. Do work station rigs actually have any advantages or disadvantages over a gaming rig,  other than GPU. Because I need a workstation rig that can game. 1080p. Like animation, coding. And Titanfall 2, overwatch,  minesweeper. I have every thing picked out but still. Are there actually any solid proof that one is better than the other? Overall performance wise of course.

Programs would be dreamweaver,  flash,  Photoshop heavily.. I just need a solid pc that won't get too outdated but I'm not a professional gamer. I basically would like the best of both worlds. I'm assuming they do have differences?

There's a gaming tax put on gaming products. Just look for products that have what you need. A gaming motherboard isn't going to make your computer run any faster, for example. It'll have some bells and whistles but if you won't even use those then you don't need to buy a gaming motherboard.
