Custom LED Mod?

rowanhazard

Hello everyone, its my first time back on these forums in a while, so go easy on me! :)

I am thinking about a new build, hopefully something like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/rowanhazard/saved/#view=RxnNGX .

I was hopefully going to make ITX and use the Phanteks enthoo evolve case (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854016&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Cases+(Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form)-_-N82E16811854016&gclid=CjwKEAiA_p_FBRCRi_mW5Myl4S0SJAAkezZr82mtvBKY8nSSJxyGHHZyH_ksUi3PWLmgQ5JgooW_qRoCLIrw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)

that didn't have a window (this is going to be a hackintosh). I then thought about how cool it would look to have little acrylic lines going down the case illuminated by RGB LEDs, but how hard would it be to do that? Ex:

So basically what Im asking is how hard would it be to cut lines (and insert acrylic) into a evolv ITX case?

Thanks in advance.

I would tanke a router and drill out those lines and just get a piece of white acrylic and glue it behind the front and then illuminate it with some LEDs.

Do you know if it would work for this case? And thanks for the input.

only going off pictures online here, but from the looks of it, there should be enough space for the leds in the front, you might need to take out the dust filter though. Also I love the idea, i might need to rip it off in the future if you're ok with that :D

It's very doable if you have the right tools, ideally you would want to use a mill to cut the slots to keep them straight and even, assuming that is steel. After you can get some frosted acrylic panels to diffuse the LED's.
