120hz w/o Gsync vs 75hz w/

Go to solution Solved by Darkseth,

wait, the Display with MORE hz is also ips?

Wait #2: Which G-Sync monitor has 75 Hz? I don't know any Monitor with G-Sync, that has less than 144 Hz.

Every single Game you play benefits from 120 Hz refresh rate.

And you do NOT (!!!!!) Need 120 fps, to benefit from 120 Hz. Even at 70-80 fps you benefit from it, and you always have a lower inputlag.

Best of course, would be 120+ Hz, and G-Sync :P

And yea, the GTX 1060 can push 120 fps in every game. it's just a question of Settings. If you need more fps, reduce settings. Simple as that :)

The other question would be, if your CPU can hold 120+ fps.

What is better a 75Hz G-sync enabled panel
or a 120Hz Panel without g-sync

the setup used a gtx 1060 6gb

which one will be better for gaming ?

Depends on what you game, if you do a lot of Cs:GO you will want the 120hz.... if you are into single player campaigns I would say 75 with G-sync

75hz with g-sync.
Unless you're a "competitive" CS:GO player you wont need 120hz anyway, and the 1060 wont be getting close to 120fps on most games if you play with high/ultra settings, other than cs:go and easy to run ones.

i play games like League of legends, overwatch and i do play cs go, but surely not on competitive level, actually i don't play a lot of it. But i do like to play battlefield which i'm pretty sure won't get up to 120 fps

so a 75Hz panel with g sync would be better ?

If you can run 120Hz go for it, it's really nice to go 100+hz from 60.

But if you don't really care much and don't have the raw horsepower to run it go for 75hz.

Generally speaking yes, but it always depends on what the rest of the monitor is. Color accuracy, viewing angles, display technology, ports, looks, tilt/bevel/height adjustment, ....

i'm no photo editor or anything so color accuracy won't matter much, but the 75Hz one is TN and the 120Hz one is an IPS (i have no idea about displays and their specs, but i do know that 120Hz will be more smooth if i'm able to get 120 fps)

i don't know if the gtx 1060 packs enough punch to give 120 fps
