Why do people want this?

kelvinhall05

I'm selling a mid-2010 iMac model A1311 with an i3-540, 12gb of DDR3, and a 500gb HDD. It's in near perfect condition, with the only flaw being that the HDD is failing, but it works completely fine and runs like (almost) new. Anyways, I'm selling this on Kijiji for $490 with a keyboard, mouse, and power cable. Thing is, everyone is asking me to do $200 or $250. I'm annoyed because while this may be what people want to pay for the iMac (~$200-250), from what I researched on eBay, $490 is a fair price. Anyways, it feels like people REALLY want this for some reason. One guy, yes one guy messaged me 63 times to try to get it for less than half of asking price, plus delivery over 40 minutes away. So, can someone tell me: is my price high? Or are people just trying to rip me off?

TL;DR I'm selling my iMac and people are trying to get it off me for less than half price.

Lower the price. $490 is too much for a 7 year old computer.

About 380 USD. Average sold price usd is 300-350.

Failing hdd means they are account for time/materials to replace it.

You are priced too high. 360$ CAD is the max I'd pay on ebay with return policy. 300$ cad for a kijiji listing.

By failing HDD, I mean it works completely fine, but I have no idea how much life it has left :/

So how much should I make the price?

If its working fine then dont list it as a failing drive. Do S.M.A.R.T test if youre paranoid about it.

400-450 cad as the drive is fine. Id also list that there is no apple ID on it or that it doesnt need a clean install. Ready to use as is.
