Laptop CPU fan overheating and thermal throttling. 100 C !!

Dimitrov67

So my laptop CPU fan dosent seem to work properly because when I check the temps on my cpu it says that it runs at 100C wich makes it thermal throttle, I cleaned everything and I even replaced the CPU cooler itself.

What can I do to make the temps go down.

Thanks

Edit : My laptop is the Toshiba satellite S50D-A

The temps might not be reading correctly. I had an ASUS laptop that would always read 100 degrees.

4 never buy shitty Toshiba laptop

1. Already cleaned the dust

2. Already put new thermal paste

3. Can reinstall Windows since I have the money to buy a new product key

4. It was my mom's laptop

you have a key with the laptop, also look at toolbar and rogue programs.

Windows 8+ laptops have the product key built into the motherboard -- you should be fine.

I've actually had very good experiences with their products. Of course every brand has its bad models. I try not to rely so much on brand names lol.

Anyway, on topic. Take it apart, clean out the dust, and replace the thermal paste. It's especially important that you clean the dust bunnies in the fan.

How did you apply the thermal paste?  Did you just do a tiny line, or did you slather it on?

Linus did a video that proved it didn't matter as long as you don't short anything or put way too little
