Ay...

AniJan

So, I have a question:

How does independence relate to survival?

I have this as one of my points as school, but for some reason, I'm not sure how to define it.

My answer that I'm neutral about is:

"Independence relates to survival because when you have no one you can trust/rely. Hence, you only have yourself."

Does anyone have a better answer than this or am I right on point?

Thanks.

Independence can increase the ability to survive due to affecting self sufficiency but this does not mean that a person (or animal if thinking about nature too) can't or shouldn't trust others.  Trusting in others and relying on them when possible to do so can help survival too.  In short, independence is a part of survival but it is not the sole determining factor for survival.

I think this is a really weird question. Do you have some context to this?

Is it survival as in how animals survive in nature or how humans survive in a society?

If it's about animals and nature:

Independence doesn't matter at all. Animals like humans, wolves, hyenas, beavers, ants, bees and so on all depend on each other for survival. They are useless on their own, and yet they survive just fine.

You can't say a leopard is better at survival than a lion just because the jaguar is far more independent.

They just have different approaches to survival.

Independence as a survival tactic eliminates the trouble of mob mentality, as well as decreasing the time it takes to make a decision?

To quote Tommy Lee Jones from Men in Black, "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals."

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs
