This reminds me of those articles that always use "our anonymous source". It annoys me, because it's basically something anyone can say without ever having a shred of proof, and if the lie they tell is wrong, they can blame the non-existent source.

 

Also, no overclocker can just say "this is what Ryzen will do". Sample size is too small, and they have absolutely no idea what the voltage tolerances are for long term. Please don't take anything anyone says about Ryzen seriously until it actually releases. Even then, give it a few weeks and check several sources. Can never be too safe when the hype train is moving this fast.

If they do, I'll end up with the first AMD CPU in my desktop for a very, very long time. My K6-2 500 really didn't hold up well against a free Pentium III 667EB (an upgrade for my Mum's old desktop, which I got given to replace my hand-me-down 386 DX-40 machine).

not really , its x86 and thus will run even windows 2000 , and the motherboards shown have drivers for windows 7 

so eh , i mean the chips are validated on 7 according to some so we have to see , you shudnt run 7 for that long anymore anyways , its almost 10 years old

A new article from HotHardware suggests that the chip tested may have actually been an Ryzen 5 1600.
