NAS Enclosure that could run Linux

Has anybuddy heard of a NAS Enclosure that could run Linux or other OS's?

Im wanting to build my own NAS but i don't want to use a full blown PC for this.

I would like to have something compact with 2 or more bays and a RAID controller.

You can build yourself a NAS using an ITX sized case if you'd like. Finding one that has 2 hot-swap bays might be more difficult though.

You can get an Off-The-Shelf NAS Appliance, but those don't run your typical Linux Distro, so it really depends on what kind of capabilities you're looking for.
