Cool beans. 1800X here I come ... If they ever announce a real ITX board! Until then I'll keep my space heater.

if you're very skeptical then take the PLU code seen in the picture to a Fry's and ask them to look it up, or call their customer service line like i did.

Your title is contradictory. Please, for all that is good and just, don't say confirmed when it's nothing but a leak...

Oh, who am I kidding, nobody's gonna listen...

$389 for a hyperthreaded octacore with roughly Haswell performance at 3.4-3.8 Ghz with as much overclocking headroom as they're saying, would be absolutely astonishingly cheap.

But, again, we don't have any solid information on their SKUs or pricing, so nobody here can answer your question definitively.

Honestly I'm still in shock that AMD's going to put their cheapest 8 core <$400... I thought it would be at least $500... This could REALLY shake up the CPU market.

GooglFanboy

I seem to like any products who have the same software and hardware maker, as long as it's not Apple. Weird. I like the Surface Book and the Pixel phones, but most definitely don't want an iPhone or another Mac (I'm not saying they're bad, though).

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones) but please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

"Confirmed" is not a picture of a piece of paper allegedly taken by a store employee that was posted to Reddit.

"Confirmed" is AMD releasing the information or a store actually putting them on the shelves.

Then Just take the PLU code to any Fry's store and ask them to look it up. it could be "confirmed" by anyone with that.

not much confirmed about this, but it is a very interesting price, still not going to upgrade unless my 4770k dies or starts acting even weirder.

Hopefully this will shake up the CPU market

Instructions on how to determine the validity of a piece of information is not evidence of that information's validity.

Besides, I highly doubt that, even if this is accurate, a Fry's store would tell you the price. One employee breaking the rules is bad enough.

Able to pre-order or raincheck on that price?

I don't doubt it though,  wouldn't be the first time Frys had aggressive pricing for CPUs of interest on release day/week.

-shutters- Dont associate me with that guy. Dude tried to argue me that making water a human right meant we could legally eat humans for the water in their bodies...

Anyone can call in and ask about the PLU code too, unlike patrick who only ever sourced places that couldnt be confirmed or had a paywall.

i cant wait either =[ hype train and all

@MoonSpot i didn't, never ordered from them so i didnt even know if I could with them. And a normal customer shouldn't have a PLU code either way. Plus I want a 1800x.

Was tempted to ask about other products, but didn't want to push my luck or get that rep in trouble.

That is illogical. It would only be OK to dehydrate them and drink the evaporated water. Eating the flesh is still cannibalism.

You do know that I meant it as a friendly jab right? :D

I have seen the 1700x up on a Swedish site for the same as the 6800k cost in Sweden, which doesn't really match the MSRP of what frys says, since a 6800k has a MSRP of 435$, so that leaves a 45$ gap.

It is only 11 days more and then we will know for sure, so I personally don't see much of an point with these topics. (but they are fun to read)

Also no way in hell I am calling Frys, that would cost me a lot of money. xD

Lol yes. That guys was just beyond my comprehension at times is all.

Do you think that price difference is just VAT or taxes? in the US taxes would att about 35$ usd more to that price in most places.
