Can I install a better UEFI BIOS?

Elerek

1) I'm aware UEFI BIOS is technically of redundant/contradictory but whatever

2) Not really sure if this belongs in OS forum...

I just bought an Acer Switch Alpha 12 to carry around when I'm not home with my nice gaming dektop. I went into the bios to see how much control I had and it was... basically 0.

I can set a password and set up a bios recovery partition... that's about it.

Is there a reliable/semi-safe way of getting a nicer feature set here? Like some ram settings, cpu feature options, etc?

Build: Intel S2600gz, 2x E5-2670, EVGA SC 1070, Zotac 1060 6GB mini, 48GB Micron 1333mhz ECC DDR3, 2x Intel DPS-750XB 750 watt PSU

Depends, Does the BIOS suport flashing? And is there something to replace it?

System Stability? More like system unstability

Nope. You're stuck with whatever the manufacturers release. You're rarely going to get features like that on a mobile device.

No, the UEFI/Bios is created for that specific motherboard type and can only be used by that motherboard, you cannot install a different one.  You may be able to update it with a more current version but it's unlikely that they would add more features, especially to a laptops bios.

Since the Acer Switch Alpha 12 is a Surface like device, the chances of it having a third party BIOS is virtually zero in my books. It's just not worth the time to try to write a custom BIOS on your own for it.
