Bad Display Cable?

sprunk

Hey. I have just bought a new 144hz monitor. The cable that came with it wasn't long enough so I bought a dual link DVI cable off ebay. Now when I try to set the refresh rate to anything over 60hz. It says  wrong cable connected. Though I though dual link DVI should support 144hz @1920x1080? Think the cable is faulty?

Thanks

The cable is pinned as a dual link so I am thinking it is just faulty. I gotta stop buying shit off ebay:)

If you have something to run a continuity test, check for continuity on the TMDS and Analog pins.  If they do not pass through, you got a nock-off or bad cable.  A Dual Link DVI-I cable will support WUXGA at or near 144Hz.
