Upgrading our servers!

I just wanted to share this great news with you guys :D

We are finally upgrading our servers in the company where I work. Since I love working with hardware I'm super hyped. We are going to get a lot of POWAAAAAA! Ok, maybe not so much, but a lot more than we've had before! :D

We have 3 HP ProLiant DL380 G6 and one G7. Untill now each one of them had only one CPU and max 20GB of RAM now three of them will have 96GB of RAM and the last one will take what we will harvest from the rest of them. All four of course will get one extra CPU :D

Upgrades include:

3x Intel XEON E5530 2.4GHz

1x Intel XEON E5620 2.4GHz

36x 8GB 2Rx4 PC3 RAM

12x 600GB  10K SAS Dual Port 6GB/s hard disks

I know, I know: "Pics, or it didn't happen..."

Here they go *o*

Yah, it's a beast. Of course it's technically the culmination of several blades in a single box so it's not technically a single server but still it gets the job done, lol.

Now go upgrade your work server :D

Blade Centers are awesome :) My friend from office has one at home and damn it works nice.

Two are done, two to go. I think I will have to do the rest on Saturday since I have to do some other things :/ Ehh... over time... Fortunately I like to do what I do :D I have to do some other stuff in our server room anyways, so I will fix it all at once on Saturday when the production servers are not in use :)

Never dealt with the blade centers myself, these are all UCS blades for Cisco UCS-B chassis.

Yup, loving what you do makes it all worth it in the end.
