Rumor: GTX 1080Ti to be announced on February 28th

Juanitology
Quote
Nvidia will be holding a "GTX Gaming Celebration" event on February 28th, the same day as AMD's Capsaicin & Cream event

This event will be taking place between 6:30PM and 11:30PM (PST), with the celebration starting at 7PM sharp. This is later than the day than AMD's Capsaicin and Cream event, which has a livestream between 10:30AM and 11:30AM and developer sessions afterwards.

Right now the company has not announced whether or not there will be a live streamed component of this event, though Nvidia does state that this event is one that "you don't want to miss", with many people speculating that this event will be used to launch new GPU hardware.

After the purported CES launch of the 1080Ti came and went we've not heard anything for a few weeks. That might change now as Nvidia has been telling news outlets there will be a big reveal at this event.

We have already heard rumours of a GTX 1080 Ti announcement at GDC 2017, though at this time we simply do not know if these rumours hold water.

Why do you want that? Are you a sadist? Mentally unstable? Are you comforted by the pain of others?

I7-7700k@5.1ghz + 1080ti @ 2050mhz + 32gbs Ram + 2TB SSD = CSGO

i7-6700k@4.9ghz + 980ti @ 1501mhz + 16gbs Ram + 1 TB SSD = Backup

i7-3770k@4.8ghz + 680 4gb + 32gbs Ram + 500gb SSD = Retired/Office work

Possibly, drinking the tears of fanboys when their company treats them like dirt while vacuuming out their wallet pleases me.

It would almost be worth reading through the 20 million threads that will be created when it happens.

this is not even a rumor is just a question mark of someone asking himself, could they launch Ti on 28th feb ?

short answer is no, Nvidia have no reason to do so, because it would be stupid, why would they release a GPU with 40% margin that beats TitanP with 70% margin ???

so unless AMD releases a gpu that would make TitanP or 1080 perfomance/$ ridiculous, or if Nvidia managed to get hold of Vega performance/$ ballpark and they want to do a preemptive strike which i doubt.

Seems to me the 1080 Ti is going the way of the Surface phone; eternally rumoured, never released :D

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Wanna know something fun? my brothers friend who had a Titan X SLI to rock ultras on 1080p wanted to go 4k resolution, so he sold his both Titan X and bought two GTX 1080... the thing is he didn't pay attention to the fact Titan X is a OC beast... and as you can see the Titan X SLI can actually outperform the GTX 1080 SLI after overclock:

Moral of the story is, hype and bad research first made him lose money for the "same performance", I got a great deal on a Titan X and if the 1080ti is announced now he will probably get very upset xD

Eh, I already caved and bought a 1080 a few weeks ago. I wanted to upgrade before ME3 was out, and with the clusterhump of pricing that seems to go on for months after launch... I didn't want to deal with it.
