Luke Personal Rig Update - Geodude

nicklmg

I came in my seat when I was watching this video, I love it. I would to something like his with water cooling and have to rocks around the reservoir, then I would have it in an all tempered glass case where you can see all the fans then make it light up orange and red so that I can have earth, water, fire, and air... then called it Avatar, or Ang, or Elements, after avatar the tv show.

Where were the Amethysts purchased from?

This gave me an idea to do it with my birthstone, which also happens to be Amethyst xD but i can only find clean cut ones, not rough ones like these.

Edit - found some rough ones... £5.50 PER stone, damn that's expensive.

Something I realized while chatting with a friend about this rig:

PCs are powered by electricity

Alolan Geodude drops Ground for Electric

He made it rock-themed and named it Geodude

It's Alolan Geodude.

I've been lurking for a bit after discovering LinusTechTips a couple months ago through a youtube search. I had to make a first post some time. Calm down young blood.

Anyways it's a good build. Not my style but it's aesthetically pleasing. It was a cool way to show off their new 8K camera.

I wonder what the geodes do to the airflow? I looked like he left some some pretty big gaps, so I doubt he will have any issues with it but just curious. Also will they retain heat over long sessions?

It does look pretty but I'd have gone for something slightly more blue(y).

I had to seriously LOL when he didn't benchmark test it and then found the motherboard issues, AFTER placing the crystals.  True LMG luck there!.

Looks good, though, tempted to put a few into my NZXT 340 with the red lighting could look good.

Yeah they always tell us to test if before we put it into a regular case lol, and then Luke glues crystals all over before benchmarks lol

I feel it's the solemn duty of everyone at LMG to remind Luke of this fail.

No it's not sad.  Aside from essentials like a home and being able to eat, pay bills, etc. there's nothing wrong with choosing to spend your discretionary income on whatever makes you happy.  ?

The R1 Universal still wouldn't have fit because the the R1 is off-center. This makes it compatible with tall RAM on normal boards, but makes it worse for compatibility on X99 since the memory is on both sides of the socket.

I was proposing the R1 Ultimate, not the R1 Universal.

Luke now that the 1080Ti has launched are you going to return the strix and go for them instead or just live with the shitty timing?
