This is the most stupid shit I have ever seen. Many indie devs may not be able to afford between 100-5000 USD per game for submission.

 

This is utterly ridiculous. How does Valve expect indie developers to pay this ridiculous price?

 

 

My guess is that many indie devs will have to make an Indiegogo or kickstarter campaign to pay for a submission to each game to Steam

 

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

It could be as part of Steam's withholdings/fees. You don't make any money unless you pay off the fee or your game sells enough to pay it off.

Good! This will get ride of the shit that's flooded Steam Greenlight since now unless a dev is deluded/stupid they'll consider whether or not they'll end up making money before dumping their shitty game on Steam. That said this is by no means the *best* way to do quality control...

I for one don't think a game that can't afford it's own (relatively cheap) submission fee deserves to be on Steam. Any decent game on Steam will make that $5k back in no time honestly. (I also highly doubt it would be $5k per game; maybe $500. I'm a small indie and I just send an email to get on steam because greenlight is shit).
