Editing 4K footage for a local film, max settings 144fps Ultrawide gaming, VR gaming.

I already have a 1080p 144hz monitor, Win7, Keyboard, Mouse.

I plan to upgrade to a higher resolution ultrawide when prices are better.

The movie I'm editing has 4K footage, but will be rendered in 1080p.

I've been researching and working on perfecting this build for three days now and I'm about ready to pull the trigger on this build. If there's any advice or comments you guys can give me, I'd be most grateful.

can't really say anything else other then  maybe getting a cheaper mobo like the asus pro or taichi series and watercooling just to make your build look even better - also, the haf??? really, i honestly don't know if the 1080 will fit in there

the airflow in the haf may not be enough and it may not even fit a d15 in it

Are you sure?? I checked the maximum video card length in the HAF's specs and it was fine.. And looking at videos of this case, it seems really huge.

It all looks good, although I'd recommend a better case, that one looks like it would have trouble fitting things such as the cpu cooler

How can I tell if my case is big enough to accommodate my internal components?

look at the specs for the cooler on Noctua's website, they would list the height of the cooler. then search for the specs of the case on Cooler Master's site, they should list how much room between the motherboard and the case

I looked into it for you,

Cooler Master CPU cooler height: 180mm / 7.1inch

Noctua Height (with fan) 160 mm

 

I guess it could work, free to get whichever case you want, but I personally would prefer a traditional case, not a big box shaped one

Lol I just came back to report the same thing but you beat me to it. Thanks for your help. So I'll look around at other cases in case there's something I might prefer more. Thanks a ton for your help and advice.

Nothing wrong with the Haf case if you have the desktop space. If you want a more conventional case you might consider the Fractal-Design Define R5 or Phanteks Enthoo Pro M.
