I like how me can know make 3D printed stuff in metal however I really don't like the idea of people printing off guns easily. I would much prefer this technology to be used to create passive items that don't have the potential to kill people. Like door handles or replacing plastic parts with metal ones. Or 3D printing a PC case which is far more handy than printing off a gun.

If I had this printer. The first thing I make would be a really cool door handle and sell it for a ridiculous amount of money. And then I would make the perfect PC case.

Secretly make more than one door handle so after you sell it you can make it worthless so they can't flip it for a profit.

To be honest, this isn't a big feat by any stretch of the imagination. LS-type printers have been around for ages and the only reason why anyone hasn't done this before is because it's a juvenile thing to use the equipment for. I will however be impressed if they didn't do any finishing on the shiny parts and in the barrel.

Actually these are extremely useful I work with them as much as my pc. This technology makes my job even easier to produce firearms, try to not to be so quick to judge what others love and produce.

What about the primer, gunpowder, and cartridge? I'm more scared of people making explosive meth labs than people printing off guns.

I have no problem with people making guns, hobby is a hobby, just not mine!

Anyone with a CNC machine can already make a gun with a bit of know how.. 3d Printing just made it a whole lot easier..

Hell.. give me a grinder, a drill, a couple of files, and a couple of years and i could make one too.

But yeah.. it's kinda becoming a problem if they start regulating 3d printers.

If you want to know why this is so significant, and not juvenile, look at history.  Countless atrocities have occurred after the disarmament of masses.  This kind of a tool helps promote freedom in a situation of oppression.  It give those with a will to fight means to do so.  This isn't for people who can just as easily go buy a gun it is for those who cannot.
