Nooby in Forum. First time, getting / Installing Home Theater, little help please.

keavlar

Hey guys.

For me, it will be too much right , install full home Theater , i mean, the 55 inch TV, projector and so.

For me, right now is most important, to install a good sound quality surround system.

In future, i will upgrade it.

Right now, i just want to be able connect the PC , and TV / DVD to a speakers .

And be able to switch between them.

When i was 15 , my father had one huge system like this.

He had 2 in a back speakers , 2 front, 1 center and 2 sub. One huge , which he converted from and OLD HUGE speaker.

Any way , he did not had receiver , but he was able to switch the speakers , between PC , TV , DVD an so .

I would like to know, do i need receiver to do so , or, this days, it also an option in some DVD home theater systems?

I mean, shops , sell , ready prebuild home theater systems, so i wanted to be sure what exactly are the difference .

Also, maybe you can suggest some from the Next web site.

It is on Hebrew, but i am sure, to see a good system, you don't need a translation.

Not Sure what you would like for advise. Hard to advise without budget and that being said it's hard to advise when you are on other side of world.  I always recommend buying used but if not an option buy a theater in a box and upgrade it as you figure out what you want.  One other thing if you are going to buy a theater in a box make sure it has a receiver without a DVD player built in they suck for upgradablity.
