Best DPI for competitive fps

Thelillypad123

I play a lot of rainbow six siege and I feel like lately I have missed a lot of shots due to my high dpi. My room is pretty cold, so when my hands get cold, they start to shake and make me miss my shot a lot.

My questions are:

is 1800 dpi a high dpi for 1440p? My inflame sensitivity is also at 50 and my poll rate is 1000hz.

I use a razer firefly mousepad, so I'm thinking once I lower dpi and sensitivity, I will have to change that out for a bigger mousepad?

Has anyone any tips or tricks to get used to the drastic change? Because I don't wanna suck for too long if I don't have to lol.

I use 400 dpi and 1.82 sens in csgo. I play on 1080p. I use a lower sens than most people though.

I'm just a random teenager from New Jersey. Why would you listen to me?

I would assume whatever works for you is the best because if you miss a lot because your dpi is too high then lower it until you start hitting shots more and more.  Also, I don't think you need to go into extreme detail with settings and whatever for Siege because it doesn't take extreme godlike accuracy to hit someone like it does in CS:GO.

I'm weird, for OS I use 1200DPI (I have a 1440p ultrawide). In rainbow six seige (because I forgot to make the DPI change) I was using the same 1200dpi and 10 for aiming and 20 for downsights. Worked ok, but I need to sit down and tweak it.

Well I mean in the summer I can nail headshots like crazy. Just in winter, my hands get way too cold and I start shaking. That's why I wanna get used to lower sensitivity so my performance doesn't change over the seasons. My room is warm, I just have bad circulation to my hands and my computer is next to a window.

I use 400dpi generally for FPS.

My main FPS is CS:GO 400dpi 1.7sens

I slowly decrease my ingame sens accordingly.

Doesn't it get annoying having to move your mouse such a large distance all the time?

Not at all, Just feel like I have more control. Not sliding past people.

From everyone I have spoke to regarding this on CS:GO(FACEIT, ESEA, MM) all say 400dpi no higher than 800dpi.

Try to lower your DPI, keep your polling rate at 1000. Get a bigger mouse mat. What mouse are you using?

Yeah thats a good mouse, just slowly decrease your dpi and sens until you find your perfect match. I would recommend 400 to 800dpi.

Yeah I love the mouse, just wish it was lighter. The buttons are so useful, although it adds weight. Haven't found a nice light mouse with more than 2 buttons unfortunately.

I currently have a G403, why do you want so many buttons?

I use 2 of the buttons for volume control, and the DPI shift key for rebuy in CSGO.

then theres DPI, and left and right click and the scroll

If you play rainbow six siege, it's nice to have a button for melee, one for primary gadget, another for secondary and another for team chat

Oh. I've never seen anyone with something lower than me. I have also recently switched to over watch with similar sens and its really low for that game.

had a friend of mine that played CSGO at 400DPI 1 sens (!) and kept missing shots, got him to improve his aim by changing sens, now he plays at 2 x 400

idk
