Wires blocking fans. Is it bad?

Daan Verhoeven

Hello,

I have a few wires of my power supply blocking a bit of airflow and i wondered if it is going to be very bad for the heat in the case or if it is ok and if i can keep it like this or should manage my cables better asap.

Here is a picture (2 intake fans 1 output)

It won't make a difference.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Yes, it's just fine (unless there are other problems). If you have an intake fan at the front and a fan in the back pushing air out you're set.

It makes literally 0 difference. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying or trying to sell you something.

the air will simply flow around the wires. makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to the air that the wires are there.

But the all my fans are pointed to underneath my graphics card so will the cpu even get any air?

I get the feeling you have no clue how air flow works...

due to the fan exhausting air at the upper rear of your case, it will be pulling available from in front of itself to the outside of the case.... in front of that fan is your CPU, so this rear fan will be directly creating air flow in front of your CPU, so it is going to be getting a TON of air.

the only difference they make is they essentially form a "seed" for dust to cling to, so in the long run (10 years of not cleaning) it'll aid to stuffing everything with dust, but under normal circumstances it's not notable.

You're fine, if anything is gonna kill your PC it won't be heat, it'll probably be your PSU which looks like a £10 unit.

Though it might be an OEM Delta, in which case you're fine on that front too.

Nah it's fine. Even if the actually "wind" won't directly hit the component, the total air in the case is going to be replaced constantly so it won't heat up. Direct airflow will only assist cooling over the short term.
