Noctua releases 3 CPU coolers for Ryzen

NumLock21

Noctua had just announced, 3 cpu coolers for the upcoming AMD Ryzen processors. These coolers are the NH-D15 SE-AM4, NH-L9x65 SE-AM4, and NH-U12S SE-AM4. NH-D15 SE-AM4 is designed for overclocking, letting user push their Ryzen cpu to thier limits, NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 for low profile/ compact builds as well for cooling low TDP AM4 cpus, and the UH-U12S SE-AM4, a balance between compact and performance. All of them features Noctua's SecuFirm2,

system for AM4, which has been tailor-designed for the new socket in order to ensure optimal compatibility, perfect contact pressure and easy, straightforward installation. Two different sets of mounting bars allow users to choose the orientation of the cooler according to their preferences in order to ensure optimal alignment with the airflow path inside the case.

Thanks to Noctua’s state-of-the-art NF-A15, NF-F12 and NF-A9x14 PWM fans that support fully automatic speed control and come with additional Low-Noise Adaptors, the new SE-AM4 models run remarkably quietly and are especially suited for highly noise-sensitive users aiming for near-silent operation.

NH-D15 SE-AM4: EUR 89.90/USD 99.90
NH-U12S SE-AM4: EUR 59.90/USD 64.90
NH-L9x65 SE-AM4: EUR 44.90/USD 52.90

All comes with a 6 year limited warranty

Please note that as a dedicated special edition for AM4, the NH-U12S SE-AM4 comes with AM4 mounting hardware only, and that for this cooler, Noctua cannot provide free mounting kits for other current sockets such as LGA115x or LGA2011-x. For the NH-U12S SE-AM4, these mounting kits can only be purchased in retail or online shops (NM-i115x for LGA115x and NM-I2011 for LGA2011-x). Future mounting upgrades will be provided free of charge as usual if technically possible.

Basically they're just older (not necessarily old as in obsolete) models with AM4 specific mounting support.

How can it be older when the current Intel ones is also NH-D15

I assume he just means the ones that are currently on the market+an AM4 mounting kit.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

i read somewhere that they can't do any better with air cooling heatsinks, unless there's a breakthrough or something along those lines. could be wrong though.

I know they're not new, and my OP don't have the word new in it. Older would be Noctua decided to use the NH-D14 For Ryzen instead of the current NH-D15.

Those cooler Noctua is using for AM4, are currently on the market.

I wasn't attacking what you said. I was just pointing out that they're not new coolers, they're just older ones made with mounting hardware for the AM4 socket.

It's pretty difficult to butthurt someone who's been on the net, since Anandtech was still at Yahoo Geo Cities. :D

These are not older coolers, these are basically current coolers with AM4 mounting hardware.

NH-D14 = old cooler

NH-D15 = current cooler

NH-D15 AM4 = current cooler with AM4 mount

NH-D14 = old cooler

NH-D15 AM4 = current cooler with AM4 mount

Current =/= new.

They are all old coolers because they were released in the past.

Changing the mounting hardware does not make something new.

NH-D15 AM4 = current cooler with AM4 mount

I think we're being lost in semantics. I know they're not "old", and I did mean current. However, if one were to read the article and not know about those coolers previously they could be lead to believe they are new coolers made specifically for the AM4 chipset, which is only half true. They're older/current coolers just with AM4 hardware.

When I posted my comment I was more so typing out loud.

The fudge you're talking about? These AM4 cooler is basically the same Intel cooler, but they only come with AM4 mounts. If your Noctua cooler is AM4 compatible, then you can request for a free AM4 upgrade kit.

Those who are planning to buy these AM4 cooler and would like to get Intel mounts... NO FREE UPGRADE FOR YOU!

Want Intel mounts, then pay Noctua Money!
