Is my 6970 dead?

Curious Pineapple

I'm having problems getting a HD 6970 to work. It's fine with the default Windows drivers, but as soon as the AMD installer gets to the drivers, black screen and a lack of response from caps/scroll/num lock. Tried on Windows 8.1 and 10, and tried 4 year old drivers too. I just got the driver to install properly after flashing a lower clocked BIOS to the card, but when I launched Overdrive to check the card, black screen and lockup. Currently in safe mode running DDU so I can get my POS Geforce back in.

Is the card terminally ill, or is there any hope for revival?

Well its not dead because it still works with the default windows drivers. It may be the driver that is the problem.
