Laptop under $1000

Hey! I am in the market for a new laptop.

This is what I want:

  • 13-14" screen (15" in a small form factor would be ok as well)
  • at least 8GB of RAM
  • 6 hours + battery
  • 256GB SSD
  • decent design
  • lightweight

I will mainly use the machine for Video Editing (1080p) and Office/Webbrowsing/Netflix.

(The ideal machine would be a XPS 15 but it is too espensive...)

But the color accuracy on this one is really bad, so not good for grading..

I looked into the xps 13 but for the money I think something like the Lenovo Yoga 710 would be better. Though the xps is way more beautiful...

the problem with laptops under 1000$, I know this because I just bought mine, is that you either get:
a nice looking and feeling laptop with mediocre specs OR

a powerful editing machine that is probably made out of plastic since hardware was the main priority.

Atleast with most of the laptops I've looked up

CPU: Xeon 1230v3 - GPU: GTX 770  - SSD: 120GB 840 Evo - HDD: WD Blue 1TB - RAM: Ballistix 8GB - Case: CM N400 - PSU: CX 600M - Cooling: Cooler Master 212 Evo

Update Plans: Mini ITX this bitch

The Dell Inspiron 13 5000 2-in-1 (5378) since it has a 1080p IPS touch panel, 16GB DDR4 Ram, backlit keyboard, 256GB SSD and the fake i7, dual core with HT for 850€ so yeah

CPU: Xeon 1230v3 - GPU: GTX 770  - SSD: 120GB 840 Evo - HDD: WD Blue 1TB - RAM: Ballistix 8GB - Case: CM N400 - PSU: CX 600M - Cooling: Cooler Master 212 Evo
