We may get it in the spring with one of the updates, but no confirmation on that...

According to Microsoft, it may get you a "few" extra FPS, nothing earth shattering.

Will most likely be more useful for lower end systems than higher end.

Couldn't even wait for me to get a reply before you moved it to a dead part of the forum ?

You got a response technically. I moved it first, and then made a post here.

According to @M.Yurizaki, Game Mode did nothing on his/her high-end machine. I'm guessing that this will be better for bloated or low-end systems.

in the case of bloated systems, a simple reinstall would help more, no?

from what news articles are saying, it's only a 2-3% increase, for now. who knows, the future might boost it a bit more. i'm looking forward to it on my lower end tablet with an atom cpu and 2GB ram

Not everyone is keen to technology. Now grandma can play Tales of Berseria Rocket League without having to worry.

who said that someone keen on technology would do the reinstall... reminds me, i should reinstall windows on my sister's laptop, it's slowed down to a crawl due to the OEM bloatware

I didn't try out the official "Game Mode", I just disabled a bunch of stuff to see if anything would happen :P

Well it depends on what they tried it on, but for the most part, I'm not expecting huge improvements. Disabling things that were already running in the background, that is taking a tiny amount of CPU time, won't improve performance all that much. If the sum total of these processes were taking 1% of CPU utilization, theoretically you shouldn't be getting any more than that in performance improvements.

Game Mode also didn't do anything on me. MAYBE it brought the performance of the game running in borderless windowed mode, as if it was running in exclusive full screen mode. If anything at that, as the difference is small already. And I don't have a powerful system. it is old. Core i7 930 2.8GHz, 6GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 680, 256GB SSD.

Microsoft said that the performance increase is more significant with UWP games. As UWP is higher level (has more layers between the game and the hardware), this feature is very important. It should bring it to Win32 performance levels.

Also keep in mind that the feature is still in development, Microsoft made this clear, and said that they will continue to work on it, even after it is released to try and bring additional gaming performance out of PC's.

Game Mode is expected to be coming with Windows 10 Creators Update (aka: Redstone 2) in March/April. Redstone 3, if you wonder, is expected to be released by the end of the year, if no delays. So, if the features gets pushed to the following update (which can happen), expect to come at the end of the year.

I installed the latest Insider preview build of Windows 10 with game mode yesterday.

It does not provide any performance improvements. It also re-enables the Game DVR that actually robs Graphics performance. After a few test benchmarks, I turned it off. It is only a beta release at the moment so maybe the next release will see some improvements. I will revisit then to see if it improves anything.
