How is this GPU?

Creed1

I am looking at upgrading my GTX 970 to a 1070. Would this be a good card? I found it for $380 USD.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition, 8GB GDDR5, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) 08G-P4-5173-KR

It seems like a good deal since it has RGB lighting, but I am not sure since I have been out of the GPU market for quite a while.

According to EVGA's website, this GPU does not have RGB lighting. RGB is reserved for the FTW cards.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

1070 is a bit better than Titan X (Maxwell) in performance, so yes it's a big upgrade from a 970. Go for it and enjoy.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Ok that makes sense. So will the SC Black with the real base clock of 1594 MHz be good?

1070 SC is an amazing card. Quieter than my 770, significantly faster, and looks amazing. White LEDs shine off my white wall and show my PC off better.

idk

Yes! I had the 970 like you did too. Major difference in performance. In Rise of the Tomb Raider I have all settings Ultra and not skipping a frame at all. Rock soild above 60fps :)
